Dear Most noble donator/sponsor:

Hello, my name is Mariah S. Manuel and I am writing this letter regarding attending Clark Atlanta University, it will cost $27,000 per year.  I am a recent graduate of Lewis Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan. While attending this institution I was a member of various organizations. These organizations include Dance Workshop, Book Club, Senior Executive Board, National Honors Society, and the Editor of the Yearbook. Although a faithful member of many rigorous organizations that needed the bulk of my time, I was able to graduate with a 3.15 grade point average overall.  While in school I also maintained a part-time job at Otto’s Crispy Co. This position gave me the chance to work with many different people and learn to use my customer service skills in a public company. In school, I was also able to participate in many community service acts that add up to at least 200 hours. These community acts include Coats for Kids, Shoes for Shorties, Gleanor’s Food Drive, Red Cross Blood Drive, March of Dimes, and many other food, penny, and clothing drives. I was also a dedicated after-school tutor to many of my peers in the school.
The reason I am writing this letter is to ask for assistance on my further educational career. I am recently registered as an incoming freshman at Clark Atlanta University for the 2005 school year as an English major. The tuition for attendance each year is at least 27,000 dollars. I am recently taking out as many loans as possible, but because of my age and inexperience effort of credit I am constantly being denied. These past weeks have been really stressful and confusing. I am a graduate of a well-known high school and going to a historically black college, but I have not received one scholarship from any of the 75+ organizations that I have applied for. I am really in a disposition and desperate for any assistance that I can receive from anyone in the world.
Please understand that I do intend to use my education to an advantage. I plan to study and stay focused on my schoolwork and to earn a bachelor’s degree at the end of my four years of attendance.  I plan to give back to the community as I have done for the past four years. I want to be able to start a college fund for $10,000 to an African-American child in my same position, so that they will not have to experience the same heartache of knowing there is a possible chance they will not be able to attend the college of their choice.
If you would like to be a donator or sponsor to my disposition of finance please contact me at cass_tech05@yahoo.com

        Thank You in advance,
